Blue House Jazz – Kurt Elling & Yellowjackets

Kurt Elling & Yellowjackets pay tribute to Weather Report in an exciting collaboration between jazz giants. Together, they present personal and innovative interpretations of Weather Report’s iconic music and groundbreaking songs.

Vocalist Kurt Elling is renowned for his unmatched blend of timeless swing and poetically sensitive lyrics. The Guardian has described him as “a Frank Sinatra with superpowers” and “one of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time.” Elling has recorded and toured with many of the major names in jazz, as well as with several of the world’s leading big bands and orchestras.

Now he joins forces with jazz fusion legends Yellowjackets for this tribute concert to Weather Report. Over more than 40 years, Yellowjackets have released 26 albums, earned 16 Grammy nominations – and won two – and toured extensively across the globe. Yellowjackets last appeared at Konserthuset Stockholm in spring 2011.
